I can honestly say I do not have many enemies – most people seem to get on with me and support me. However my Self is my enemy, and I have always seen it so. It will lie, cheat, and do anything it can to stop me from going where I have to go and to stop me doing the work with Maitreya. Thankfully, due to the husbands I have had, The Self is never able to last for long around or in me.
Years ago though before I realized that the Self was there and how powerful it is, I used to tell everyone my father was the one to blame for my being the way I was. I blamed him for all of my woes when, in fact, my fear of answering back and my fear of standing up to him, had dominated my life and made it seem so. I thought of him as an enemy but he was far from being an enemy. Most of the time he was being a mirror, showing me what I was frightened of and also challenging me to stand up to him. I did not have the guts to do so.
I never stop telling people that their so-called “enemies” could be their best friends in Spirit trying to show them on the earth plane what they do not want to see within or around themselves. There are actually no enemies, none at all. All those we do not like or who do not like us are people who are trying to teach us something, and when we stop and think about what it is, it can usually be a very “aha” moment. Most of us though have a Self who does not wish to see that and so makes excuses for not paying attention.
In the future, when someone upsets you, ask yourself why they are doing so. You may be pleasantly surprised.
